70th Session on the UN Commission on the Status of Women (CSW)

For the first time, the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung New York Office, Heinrich Böll Foundation, Washington, DC and Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung jointly hosted a reception during the UN Commission on the Status of Women (CSW).

March 9, 6:30-8:00 PM | Scandinavia House, New York

A powerful example of collaboration between three foundations, bringing together guests from around the world!

As Commissioner for International Affairs Ana María Archila put it so beautifully in her keynote: “New York City is not just where the world gathers, it’s where the world lives.”

For the first time, the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung New York Office, Heinrich Böll Foundation, Washington, DC and Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung jointly hosted a reception during the UN Commission on the Status of Women (CSW). It was inspiring to see more than 200 participants - including ambassadors, members of the German Bundestag, and international partners - come together to exchange ideas and strengthen our shared commitment to gender equality.

We were especially honored to welcome Commissioner for International Affairs Ana María Archila, recently appointed by New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, whose inspiring remarks reflected her deep commitment to gender equality and intersectional justice in New York.

A heartfelt thank you as well to Ambassador Ricklef Beutin and member of the German Bundestag Saskia Esken for joining us.

We look forward to building on this momentum and continuing the important conversations that began that evening!
