The FES Fall Academy is a week-long training program organized by the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) in New York since 2006. Participating in the 2024 Fall Academy were 13 young policy makers coming from 13 countries across 6 continents.

This year’s Fall Academy took place against the backdrop of several unfolding global crises, such as climate change, wars in Ukraine and the Middle East, high costs of living, debt crises, and more. Participants received first-hand information from international political experts, diplomats, and United Nations officials on how today’s interconnected challenges are addressed by international diplomacy and through cooperation at the United Nations. While deepening their theoretical and practical understanding of the multilateral system, participants also reflected on political challenges in their home countries and discussed how to put international frameworks to strategic use.
