"Networking Across Boards and Borders: Strategies for Advancing Gender Equality in Rural Areas"

On the occasion of the 62nd Session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women (CSW), FES New York jointly co-hosted an international reception with Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung -- New York Office, DAWN, Global Policy Forum, MADRE, and Regions Refocus. 

The reception featured keynote remarks by guest of honor Elke Ferner (Fmr. Parliamentary State Secretary for the German Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth) on how to advance particularly rural women's rights and empowerment on both the national and international stage, and provided ample opportunity for the diverse, international group of participants to exchange ideas, expand their networks, and jointly discuss how to strengthen the voices of women worldwide.
