UNited for Climate Justice

The climate emergency is becoming clearer than ever, but progressive policies can help us meet the challenge ahead.

We believe that environmental injustices are closely linked to social and economic injustices within our societies. As they aim to defend social justice, fight inequalities and promote our common well-being, progressive policies and values can help us meet the momentous challenge ahead.

Therefore, on the occasion of the UN Secretary-General's Climate Action Summit and the 74th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES), the Foundation for European Progressive Studies (FEPS) and its partners hosted a side event in New York on September 19-21.

Featuring high-level speakers, such as Mary Robinson (Fmr. President of Ireland), Teresa Ribera (Minister for Ecological Transition, Spain) and many more, this was the second side event of FES and FEPS in the framework of the UN General Assembly held under the support of UN Secretary-General António Guterres.
