FfD Mini-Retreat 2023 Alongside UN-DESA and the UN Foundation, FES New York hosted a Financing for Development (FfD) mini-retreat for UN Member States. The United Nations (UN) Department of Economic and Social Affairs Financing for Sustainable Development Office and the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) office in New York, in collaboration with the UN Foundation, co-hosted a Financing for Development Mini-Retreat, held 17-18 January 2023. Leading up to the United Nations FfD Forum in April, the retreat provided an opportunity for UN Member State representatives to discuss challenges and solutions to financing sustainable development in the context of current overlapping crises and economic shocks. Following a keynote presentation by Jill Dauchy (CEO & Founder, Potomac Group), the retreat discussed preliminary analytical work in the 2023 Financing for Sustainable Development Report (FSDR). The report brings together the latest thinking on financing issues from across the UN system, with active participation of the IMF, World Bank, and WTO along with the UN. The Mini-Retreat was held under Chatham House Rule.
