An informal Reflection Group, established by the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung’s South Sudan Office, developed criteria for more effective conflict resolution in South Sudan, as well as actionable recommendations for policy actors on all levels. The Reflection Group’s findings were recently published in the “FES Perspective” policy brief entitled “How to Make Peace Work in South Sudan: Criteria for More Effective Collective Conflict Management in South Sudan”.

Members of the Reflection Group presented their suggested action points for the international community’s engagement with peace processes at local, national, and regional level. This debate was part of the FES New York “Perspectives from Africa” series of discussion events. With these, FES wants to bring timely information from the work of its African offices and partner organizations to members of the UN Security Council and the UN at large.
